The Supernova is a War Mode flail. When reaching War Mode (in Expert mode) it will spawn only 1 in a random Shadow Chest in Hell. When hitting an enemy it has a chance to cause a explosion doing damage depending on how close the enemy is. When used inflicts the debuff "On Fire!" and "Confused".
