The Mechanical Cannon is a drop from Skeletron Premier. It has a 50% chance from dropping if the Cannon Arm was killed during the fight. It will not drop from the arm itself. It uses cannonballs as ammo. Cannonballs fired will travel quite slowly, but explode when they hit a mob, player or block.
